After breakfast, you start to explore Luang Prabang with the city’s oldest temples of Wat Sene and Wat Xieng Thong. With Wat Sene Souk Haram, this is one of the most beautiful temples in Luang Prabang, singular by its restored painting of a deep ochre colour, flamboyant and glittering with gold.
Wat Xieng Thong is a magnificent piece of architecture and also important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion. It’s also located at the meeting of Nam Khan and Mekong River.
Later today, driver to the Pier and take a cruise along the Mekong about two hours upstream from the centre of Luang Prabang, and discover the numerous Buddha images at Pak Ou Caves. On return, visit the traditional rice alcohol village.
Afterwards, walk around Ban Pak Ou Village, a small Laotian fishermen’s village on the Mekong River, and continue to Ban Muang Keo village, where you can learn about Traditional Lao textiles and easy find a Local handcraft gift. Return to Luang Prabang by boat.
